Georgian dance is steeped in tradition; all the more so for Merab, who hails from a family of dancers. When a spot opens up in the national ensemble, he leaps at the chance for an audition and falls into the orbit of the newest male dancer, Irakli. Under the eye of friends and girlfriends, their rivalry grows into a forbidden fruit that is equal parts sweet and intoxicating.

Levan Akin is a Swedish-born filmmaker of Georgian descent. He trained at the renowned Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. And Then We Danced premiered at Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight this year. It is Akin’s first Georgian language film and his third feature after Certain People (2011) and The Circle (2015).

The T Project is the first and only holistic social service for the transgender community in Singapore. Founded in 2014, The T Project now has a homeless shelter and the Alicia Community Centre, a trans-focused drop-in centre for the public.

The T Project shelter provides a safe haven for the homeless in the community while they seek employment, healthcare, and more permanent accommodations. We work with hospitals, social workers, and government organizations to support better services and care for the community.

At our community centre, we offer professional counselling for transgender individuals, support groups, as well as other programs to promote better understanding of the community. We also provide the transgender community and the public with trans focused information, ranging from sexual health to employment resources.
